Job Description

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our Maryland Heights, MO client. This is an on-going contract (3+ months) averaging 30 hours per week onsite. This position will report to the CFO and manage accounting projects and day-to-day accounting duties.

$28-34 an hour based on experience

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, ledgers, and account reconciliations, year end close out.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and potential issues.
  • Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including adjustments and accruals.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and company policies.
  • Maintain and update financial databases and records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • Account Analysis 2+ years
  • GAAP 2+ years
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks REQUIRED, SAP) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
